Bright Active Soap

We are over in Bahadurpura Old, tucked away in an alleyway. Bright Active Soap isn't a huge factory or anything. It’s more of a workshop where we make soap the old-fashioned way. The smell is the first thing you notice—it's very strong of perfume and cleaning stuff. We spend the whole day mixing ingredients in big vats. It gets quite hot in there, especially in the summer. We pour the soap into molds and then wait for it to set. Once it's hard, we cut it by hand. None of the bars look exactly the same, which is just how it is when you don't use big machines. Bahadurpura is a very crowded part of town, so getting our supplies delivered is always a bit of a struggle with the narrow streets. We sell to the little shops around here. Sometimes we make mistakes and the color isn't quite right, so we just use those ourselves. It’s a simple business. We don't have a website or anything fancy. We just focus on making the next batch. My clothes always smell like soap even after I go home. It’s a family thing, really. My uncle started it, and now we just keep it going. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning till night. We don't use flashy packaging, just basic stuff that gets the job done. People buy it because it works.
