Ark Incense Industry

Ark Incense Industry is our small factory at 4-25-2/10/B in Diamond Colony. That is part of the Suleman Nagar area in Chintalmet, Hyderabad. You can usually smell our place before you see it because of all the incense we make every day. The scent of sandalwood and jasmine usually hangs in the air around the building. It is a local operation, and most of the people working here live nearby in the colony. We have the raw materials coming in bags and then it is a lot of manual work to get the sticks ready. The floors are often covered in a fine dust from the charcoal and wood powder we use for the base. It is not a high-tech setup at all. We have rows of drying racks and people sitting together working and talking. We have been in Chintalmet for a good number of years now. The neighborhood is quiet for the most part, except for the delivery vans coming and going. We do not have a big storefront or a place to display things. It is just the production area and a small corner where we pack everything into boxes for the shops. Sometimes the humid weather affects how fast the sticks dry, so we have to adjust our work schedule. We just keep our heads down and do the work. It is a bit of a messy job, and our clothes usually smell like incense by evening.
