Europly Timber Co. is situated at 1-8-583 in the Azamabad Industrial Area. We are right across from the Apsrtc Kalyana Mandapam here in Hyderabad. The smell of wood is the first thing you notice when you walk into our yard. We have stacks of timber everywhere and it takes up most of the space. The yard is open to the air mostly, so we are always checking the weather. If it looks like rain, we have to hurry and cover everything up with heavy tarps. It is a lot of physical work, moving the planks and sorting them by size and type. The function hall across the street often has weddings going on, so we hear music and see people in fancy clothes while we are covered in sawdust. It’s a funny contrast. Our office is just a small shack at the front where we keep the records. It’s usually covered in a thin layer of dust no matter how much we clean. We have a few old dogs that hang around the yard and keep us company. The traffic in Azamabad is pretty heavy, especially with the buses from the depot nearby. We just go about our business, cutting and moving timber until the sun goes down. It’s honest work and it keeps us moving. We don't have a website or anything, just this old yard where we work every day. It’s a simple way to make a living and we like the routine.
