Our lab is over in Flat No. 102 of Doyen Chambers. We are positioned right behind Saradhi Studio, which is a good landmark if you’re trying to find us for the first time. Being in an apartment-style building makes it feel a bit more private than a big clinical center. Inside, we have transformed the space into a working laboratory. There are benches with microscopes, centrifuges, and racks of test tubes everywhere. It’s mostly about processing blood samples and other tests that doctors send our way. The air is always a bit cool because of the equipment requirements. We spend most of our hours looking at slides or typing data into the computer system to get the results out. It’s a quiet place for the most part, except for the hum of the fridge where the samples are kept. We don't have a lot of walk-in traffic, so it’s mostly just the staff moving around in their lab coats. The paperwork is never-ending, with labels and forms needing to be matched up exactly. We take our breaks in a small kitchenette area when there’s a gap in the testing cycle. It’s a very routine-heavy job, focusing on accuracy and making sure nothing gets mixed up. Being behind the studio means we sometimes hear some noise from outside, but mostly we are just focused on the vials in front of us. We try to keep things tidy, but the counter space is always at a premium.
