Ambika Paints & Hardware Merchants

We have been at Ambika Paints & Hardware Merchants on OU Road for quite some time now. The shop is located in the Nallakunta area and it is usually filled with the strong smell of fresh paint and heavy metal. We have wooden shelves reaching all the way to the ceiling packed with tins, brushes, and boxes of nails of every size. Sometimes it takes us a minute to find exactly what someone is asking for because there is just so much stuff shoved into the corners and behind the counter. It is a bit dusty in here, especially when we are moving heavy bags of cement or opening wooden crates. People from the neighborhood come in for a single screw or maybe a gallon of paint for their living room wall. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us helping out and carrying heavy loads back and forth all day. The floor has a few old paint spills that never really came off, but it adds character to the place I guess. Working on OU Road means we see a lot of students and families passing by our door. We try to keep things simple and honest. If we have the item, we’ll show you where it is. If we don’t, we might know another shop nearby that does. It’s a straightforward way to spend the day, surrounded by tools and colors, helping folks fix up their houses. We stay open until the sun goes down and then we lock up the heavy shutters.
