Akram Marbles

Akram Marbles is located right by Thukaramgate North in Lallaguda. If you come by 10-5-293, you’ll see stacks of stone and marble everywhere. It’s a dusty business, there is no way around that. We spend our days moving heavy slabs and showing people the different patterns and colors that come in. The yard is usually a bit messy because cutting and loading stone isn't a clean process. We have been in this part of Lallaguda for a while, and we know the locals who walk past our gate every day. It’s not a fancy showroom with air conditioning; it’s mostly open-air and physical. Your clothes get white with stone dust by lunchtime, but we don't mind much. We use old machinery that still works fine, even if it makes a lot of noise. Every piece of marble is different, and we enjoy seeing what comes off the trucks next. We aren't sales people with suits; we are just guys who know about stone and how to handle it. The neighborhood is loud with the trains and the traffic, but it feels like home to us. We just open up in the morning, do the heavy lifting, and try to make sure we have what people are looking for. It’s a basic, honest way to make a living in the city. There is always someone coming in to look at the different slabs we have available.
