Suresh Co

We are located on the third floor of the Abids Shopping Centre. It’s an old complex, and the elevator is a bit temperamental, so most of us just take the stairs. Our office, Suresh Co, is just a simple space with a couple of desks and some filing cabinets. The windows look out over the busy street below, and you can see the traffic piled up at the signal. We’ve been here at number 35 for quite some time. It’s a bit cramped when more than three people are inside. We handle a lot of paperwork and small accounts. The ceiling fan makes a clicking sound on the high setting, so we usually keep it on low. It’s mostly quiet work. We aren't a big firm with fancy furniture. My desk is an old metal one that I got second-hand. There’s a stack of newspapers in the corner that we keep meaning to throw away. We know most of the other shopkeepers in the building. Sometimes we go down to the ground floor to grab a quick snack or a tea. It’s a very regular sort of existence. We show up at ten, do the work, and leave when the sun goes down. There isn't any big secret to it. We just keep the business running as best as we can. It’s a small living but it’s ours and it’s enough for us.
