Avon Electricals

Troopbazar is always a bit of a mess with traffic, but we’ve been tucked away at 4-1-511/3 for a good while. Avon Electricals is basically a room full of boxes and components. If you need a specific wire or a replacement switch, we probably have it buried somewhere on a shelf. It’s not the most organized place in Abids, but we know where everything is. The shop isn't very large, so we have to stack things pretty high. Dealing with electrical parts in Hyderabad means we see a lot of people coming in with broken things or projects they're trying to finish at home. We just grab what’s needed from the back and talk about the weather or whatever else is going on in the market. Sometimes the lights flicker in here, which is ironic for an electrical shop, but that’s just the old building for you. We don't have a fancy showroom. It's just counters and parts. Most of our day is spent looking through catalogs or checking stock levels. It gets dusty with all the cardboard, but we manage. People come to us because we’re right here in the middle of it all. We don't do much advertising. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait for the first customer to walk in from the street. Our staff is just a couple of guys who know their way around a fuse box.
