Safe Glaze

Safe Glaze is on the 2nd floor of the Modern Enclave building, which is at No. 5/9/201- B/A on Chirag Ali Lane in Abids. Getting up there involves a bit of a climb or taking the old elevator if it’s working that day. Once you’re inside, the place is filled with glass of all different sizes and types. We have to be really careful moving around because there’s glass leaning against almost every wall. The office part is just a couple of desks pushed together in the corner. Abids is a very crowded part of the city, and Chirag Ali Lane is usually packed with parked bikes and people moving around. From our windows on the second floor, we can see the street below, which is always a bit of a mess. Most of our day is spent measuring things out and checking the edges of the glass sheets. We use a lot of tape and various cutting tools that stay out on the main table. It’s a bit dusty because of the cutting, so we’re always wiping things down. We don't have a big showroom; we just show people samples of what we have right there in the work area. It’s a practical setup for the kind of work we do. We just stay focused on the glass and try to keep everything organized in the limited space we have.
