Our place is situated in Yarlaga Post, within the Challapalli Mandal area of Krishna District. It is a bit out of the way for most people, but for the folks around here, we are easy to find. We are under the name of K. Gopal Rao’s son, and that family connection is how most of the locals know us. The building is simple and doesn’t have any of those modern glass fronts. We deal with music supplies and instruments, mostly keeping things in stock for the schools and local performers in the district. The weather out here in Andhra Pradesh can be really something, so we spend a lot of time just keeping the dust off the inventory. It is a quiet kind of work. We don't have a big team or anything, just a few of us who know where everything is kept. The roads can be a bit rough during the monsoon season, which sometimes slows down our deliveries. We don’t mind the slower pace. We have our regulars who come in for a chat or to see what new strings or pieces we’ve managed to get in. It is more like a community spot than a big company office. We handle our own paperwork and keep our own books. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until the sun goes down. We are just glad to be a part of the daily life in Yarlaga.
