We are based out of Quarter Number H-01 in Sunabeda-2. It’s up here in the Koraput district of Orissa. This isn't a big city office. We work out of a residential area because it’s where we live and know everyone. Telecom services are what we do. That means we spend a lot of time on the phone or out fixing lines. The reception in this part of the hills can be tricky sometimes. We have a couple of phone numbers, 06853-221927 and a mobile too, just in case one doesn't work. Being in a place like Sunabeda means things move a bit slower than in the capital. We like the quiet though. Most of our work is making sure people stay connected. Sometimes we have to drive quite a distance to reach a site that needs help. Our team is small, just a few guys who know how the wires and towers work. We don't have a website or anything like that. We just rely on the phone ringing and people telling us what needs fixing. The weather in Koraput can be unpredictable, especially during the rains, which makes climbing or outdoor work a bit of a challenge. We just take it day by day. It’s an honest living.
