This is Mohammed Ifthekhar Ahmed. I work as an engineer and contractor, and while my name is linked with Gulbarga, I’m actually based out of Sayeeda Cottage in Hyderabad. The address is 16-3-472/1A, right near Jama Masjid in the Dulehkhan Nawab Dewdi area of Chanchalguda. It’s an old part of the city with a lot of history and very tight streets. Finding the cottage can be a bit of a puzzle if you aren't used to these lanes, but the Masjid is a good landmark for everyone. I spend a lot of my time looking over plans and managing sites, so I’m not always sitting at the desk. Construction work is messy and unpredictable, but I’ve been doing it long enough that I don't get surprised much anymore. Being in Hyderabad means dealing with a lot of heat and noise, but it’s home. The office at Sayeeda Cottage is where I keep all my files and meet with people when we need to discuss a project. It’s not a shiny corporate building. It’s a place where we drink a lot of tea and talk about bricks, cement, and deadlines. I try to be straightforward with everyone I work with because that’s the only way to get things done right. We don’t make big promises we can’t keep. We just look at the job and try to finish it as best as we can.
