We are located on Chandrama Street in Berhampur. It is a typical busy street in Orissa, with plenty of noise and people moving about all day long. Our agency handles a lot of different goods, so the storage space is usually filled up with boxes and crates. We have to move things around quite a bit just to find what we need for a specific order. It is a bit of a workout, carrying items and checking the invoices. The office part of the building is just a small corner where we keep the ledgers and the phone. We do not have any fancy air conditioning, so the summer months can be a bit rough, but we manage with the old fans. Most of our day is spent talking to local retailers and making sure their orders are ready for them to pick up. It involves a lot of coordination. Sometimes a delivery is late because of the heavy rain, or a truck breaks down on the highway, and we have to spend the whole afternoon on the phone. That is just part of the daily business. We have been on this street for quite some time now, so we are a familiar sight to the people living nearby. We take our lunch breaks together and usually talk about local news or the market prices. It is just a place where we work hard and try to stay organized.
