Out here in Mattampally, things are pretty quiet except for the plant noise. We are located at Grey Gold Cements Limited, right in the Nalgonda district. Working in a place like this means you get used to the dust and the heavy trucks moving around all day. Being at the post and village level keeps you connected to the local people around here. It’s a long way from the big cities, but there is plenty to do. Most of the staff comes from the nearby villages. We spend our mornings checking on the loads and making sure the machinery is running okay. Sometimes the power goes out, or a truck gets stuck on the road, and we have to figure it out right then. It is a practical life, nothing fancy about it. The office is just a place to sit and handle the paperwork that never seems to end. We have some tea, talk about the weather or the harvest, and then get back to the cement. People know us as the main spot in this part of Andhra Pradesh. The walk from the main gate to the office takes a few minutes, and you see the whole operation working. It's tough work but it's what we do. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. Just the work and the people who show up every day to do it.
