Dhyanaprastha Seva Sangam

We are based at House Number 54 in Kharkhana, Secunderabad. It is an old residential house that we have been using for the Sangam for a long time. Because it is an old building it has a lot of character but also a few leaks when it rains really hard. We don’t mind though because it feels like home to most of us. The area is mostly quiet which is good for the kind of work we do here. We have several rooms filled with old records and books and chairs for visitors. People from the local community often stop by just to see what is happening or to ask for help with something. We don't have a professional cleaning crew or a big staff. We just take turns sweeping up and keeping things tidy ourselves. It is a very grassroots way of doing things. In the evenings the street gets a bit more lively with children playing outside and people coming home from work. We usually keep the lights on late if there is a lot of organizing to do. We don't use any fancy software or systems, just pen and paper for the most part. It works well enough for us and everyone knows where everything is kept. It is a very basic operation but we have been part of the neighborhood for so long that we can't imagine being anywhere else.
