You can find Aware Health Organisation over on Gundu Kotaiah Street in the Krishna Lanka part of Vijayawada. The door number is 41-12-16/A, which can be a bit confusing for some delivery drivers, but we’re used to it. Being in Krishna Lanka means we are right in the middle of a very lively neighborhood. There is always something happening outside on the street. Our office is pretty simple. We have some chairs for people to wait in and a few desks for the staff. We focus on health-related stuff, so things are usually kept as clean as possible, though the dust from the road is a constant battle. We’ve been here in Andhra Pradesh for a long time now. The people who work here are mostly locals from the nearby streets. It’s a tight space, but we make it work. Sometimes we all have to pitch in to move furniture around when we get new supplies delivered. It’s not the kind of place with a big lobby or fancy carpets. We prefer to spend our time actually helping with the tasks we have rather than worrying about how the office looks. We have some tea in the mornings and then get straight to it. It’s a practical way to run things, and it keeps us connected to the community right outside our door. We just do what we can every day.
