S L Enterprise is tucked away at 59-22 in Ilkal, which is part of the Bagalkot district. If you know this area, you know it’s famous for the sarees, but we do our own thing here. It’s a simple setup, nothing like those big city offices you see on TV. We mostly handle local supplies and general trade. The building we are in is older, so it stays relatively cool even when the Bagalkot sun is beating down outside. We spend a lot of time talking to the local shopkeepers and making sure they have what they need for their shelves. It’s a lot of back-and-forth on the phone and some manual counting of stock in the small warehouse space we have. Sometimes the deliveries are a day late because of the roads, but folks around here are generally patient. We don't have a receptionist or anything; if you walk in, you’ll probably just find one of us sitting at the wooden table with a ledger. We’ve lived in Ilkal most of our lives, so we know most of the people who walk past our door. It’s a quiet way to earn a living, just keeping the business steady and the customers satisfied without any big fuss. We take our tea twice a day and close up when the sun starts to set. It’s not a complicated life, just honest work done by hand and mind.
