About W3 Web School – Education in Hugli-Chinsurah
South Noldanga is where we set up W3 Web School. It is not a very big place, just a few rooms near Post Bandel where we show people how to build websites and use the internet. The area is Marakhana, and it stays quite busy during the day. We started this because we noticed a lot of local guys and girls were travelling too far to learn computer stuff. Our desks are usually covered in wires and notes from the morning classes. It is not like a fancy office you see in films. We just have some computers, chairs, and a white board that is starting to get stained. Most of the time, someone is asking about HTML or how to fix a broken link. We drink a lot of tea while looking at screens. Bandel is a good spot for this, even if the power goes out sometimes or the internet acts up when it rains. We don't have a big reception or people in suits. Usually, it’s just one of us sitting there when you walk in. We try to keep things simple for the students who come from around here. It feels good when a student finally gets their code to work after trying for an hour. That is basically what goes on here every day. We open up in the morning, clean the keyboards, and wait for the first batch to show up for their lessons.
