Boral Lane is a bit narrow, so it’s not always easy for larger vehicles to get through, but we manage. Our place is number 410. It’s an old building, like many others in this part of Hooghly. Inside, it’s a bit dark, but we have enough lights to see what we are doing. We handle the business from a few small rooms that are packed with folders and samples. It’s not a modern corporate office by any stretch of the imagination. There is a certain smell of old paper and dust that you just get used to after a week of working here. The humidity in West Bengal can be quite high, so things sometimes feel a bit damp in the rainy season. We have a small staff and we all do a bit of everything. There isn't really a strict hierarchy. If something needs to be moved or a phone needs to be answered, whoever is closest just does it. We keep things simple. We don't have a website or any big marketing plans. We just focus on the work that comes in through the door or over the phone. It’s a quiet way to earn a living, tucked away on Boral Lane. We just take it one day at a time.
