Vijay Traders

We are located at 508/45, Tabibland in Dharwad. Tabibland is one of those places where the streets are a bit narrow and things always feel a bit crowded, but it has a lot of character. Our shop has been here for years, and it’s tucked away amongst a bunch of other traders. It’s a lot of talk and bargaining all day long. We sell various goods, and the inventory changes depending on what we can get a good deal on. The shelves are packed right up to the ceiling, and sometimes you have to move three things just to get to the one you actually want. My father used to say that a tidy shop means you aren't busy enough, so we don't worry too much about the clutter. Dharwad is a nice place to live, and being in the middle of the trading hub means you get to see all kinds of people every day. We don’t have a computer system that tracks everything; we mostly use a notebook and our memory. It’s a bit old-fashioned, I suppose, but it works for us and our customers. We don't have a big marketing plan or anything like that. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait for the regulars to come by. It’s a simple way to run a business and it keeps us busy from morning until we close up for the night. We like it that way.
