Track Mates

Track Mates is out in the Bellur Industrial Area in Dharwad. We are located at Plot No. 252A on Road No. 13. Being out here means we have a bit more space than the shops in the middle of the city, but it also means it is a long commute for some of us. The industrial area is quite large, and it can feel a bit empty during the off-hours. We focus on heavy engineering and track-related work, hence the name. The workshop is a big open shed where the wind blows through, which is nice when it is hot. We have a lot of heavy steel lying around and some big machines that take a lot of effort to set up. It is not the kind of job where you can stay clean; by the end of the day, everyone is covered in dust and grease. We have been on Plot 252A for several years now, and we have seen the area grow slowly. There are not many places to eat nearby, so we usually bring our own tiffin and sit together in the shade during the break. We do not use any corporate jargon or have big meetings about goals. We just look at the schedule for the week and try to keep the machines running smoothly. It is a quiet, hardworking life out here in Dharwad, away from the main hustle. We just focus on the metal.
