Suvidha Store

Suvidha Store has been sitting here in Old Hutri Bazar for quite a long time now. My father started things off and I just sort of took over when he got tired of the daily commute from our house. It is a simple shop really. We don’t have those fancy glass displays or bright neon lights you see in the big city malls. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint but we never seem to find the time between orders and customers. Most days it’s just me and one other person making sure the shelves aren’t empty. It gets dusty because of the road right outside. People from the neighborhood stop by, mostly for small stuff they forgot to buy earlier in the week. We keep a ledger for the regulars which is easier than a computer. Sometimes the deliveries arrive late because the traffic in the bazar is a nightmare around midday. You learn to live with it after a while. We have a ceiling fan that makes a bit of a clicking noise but it keeps the air moving during the summer months. There is a tea stall just two doors down where I get my morning chai every day. It’s a basic life but it keeps us busy. We don’t really do any advertising or anything like that. People just know where we are. If you walk past the old temple, you’ll find us easily. It’s not a big place but we managed to fit everything inside. We spend our evenings checking the stock.
