Our main base for this stretch is at Shiggaon in the Haveri district. We’re working on the NH 4 project, specifically the road between Hubli and Haveri. If you’ve driven down this highway, you’ve probably seen our machines and the dust we’re kicking up. The office is a simple setup right by the project site. It’s where we handle all the paperwork and try to keep some sense of order while the road grows outside. Working for Afcons on a highway project means you’re always on the move. We’ve been here in Karnataka for a while now, getting used to the local food and the way the weather affects the paving. It’s hard work, and nobody here is wearing a suit. We’re mostly in boots and high-vis vests, dealing with traffic diversions and supply trucks. It’s not a polished corporate office by any means. It’s full of maps, schedules, and empty tea cups. We don't have a mission statement on the wall; we just have a timeline we’re trying to stick to. The road is what matters, and making sure it's done right so people can actually use it. It gets loud and messy, but that’s just how you build a highway. We just show up, do the hours, and move on to the next kilometer without much fuss. It's just the way we work here.
