Kalyani Paper Products

Kalyani Paper Products has been over here at 7A, Ida Uppal, Opposite Ajantha Hotel, for a good bit of time now. It’s a handy landmark because everyone knows where that is. The morning starts with the sound of the machines getting warmed up. There is always that specific smell of paper and ink in the air here. It gets into your clothes after a while. Most of the staff comes from the local neighborhood, so we all know each other pretty well. We spend most of our hours making sure the stacks are right and the cutting is done properly. It’s loud in the workshop, so we usually have to shout a bit to be heard over the hum of the equipment. Sometimes things break down and we have to spend the afternoon with grease on our hands fixing a gear or a belt. That’s just how it goes in a place like this. We aren't trying to be some big, polished company with a lobby and receptionists. It’s just a practical workspace where we get things done. We have our tea breaks out front and watch the traffic go by the Ajantha Hotel. It’s a simple life, and we like the routine of it. We keep track of everything on old ledgers and try to stay on top of the orders that come through the gate. It is not fancy, but it works for us.
