We’ve been operating out of 24 Kings Road here in Howrah for quite some time now. If you know West Bengal, you know how busy things can get around this area. Our office isn't anything fancy to look at, just a regular place where we get the work done every day. Shipping is a lot of paperwork and tracking things down, so that's mostly what our desks look like—piles of forms and logbooks. We spend most of our hours making sure things get loaded or unloaded when they should. It’s a lot of back-and-forth on the phone with drivers and docks. Sometimes the traffic on Kings Road makes things a bit slow, but we manage. People here know us as the ones who stay late to make sure a shipment actually leaves the gate. It’s not always smooth sailing; there are delays and mistakes happen, but we just fix them and move on to the next task. We’ve got a small crew, mostly locals from the neighborhood who have been in this industry long enough to know the shortcuts. There’s usually some tea going and a lot of noise from the street outside coming through the windows. We don't really have a big corporate setup, just a bunch of people trying to keep things moving. Most days are just about checking manifests and making sure the trucks are where they need to be. It’s honest work and keeps us busy from morning till evening.
