This branch of Ultra Tech Cement Ltd is out in Howrah, specifically in a village called Chakpota. We operate out of a space owned by the Pakhira family, near the Amta area. It’s very much a rural setting compared to the big city offices. You have to go through some winding roads to find us. The surrounding area is full of greenery and small houses. Our office is a simple structure that fits right in with the village. We handle the supply for a lot of the local building projects in the Dist.-Howrah region. It’s a slow-paced environment until a big delivery arrives, then everything gets very busy for a few hours. We don't have a lot of staff, just a couple of us handling the orders and the storage. Partha Sarathi Pakhira and Samir Pakhira are the names most people ask for when they come by. We spend a lot of time sitting on the porch area talking to the locals about their construction needs. The internet can be a bit patchy out here, so we still rely a lot on hand-written receipts and phone calls. It’s a different way of working, but it works for us.
