Our office for Techno Electric & Engineering Co. Ltd. is located up on the 5th floor at P7, Dobson Lane. Howrah is always buzzing with people, and this lane is no different. Being on the fifth floor gives us a bit of a view of the area, though it’s mostly just other rooftops and the hazy sky. The elevator is a bit temperamental, so we end up taking the stairs more often than we’d like, which keeps us moving. The office is full of desks, computers, and stacks of engineering journals from years ago. We don’t have any fancy signs or sleek furniture. Everything we have is built for use, not for show. People come in and out all day, usually carrying blueprints or boxes of parts. It gets hot in the afternoons, but we have a couple of fans that do their best to move the air around. We’ve been at this address for a while, so we’ve settled into a rhythm that works for us. It’s a practical environment where the focus is on solving technical problems and making sure our engineering projects stay on track. We don’t spend money on marketing or polished presentations. If someone needs to find us, they just look for the building near the main road and head up. The team is small and we’ve all worked together for years. We usually eat lunch together at our desks, talking about the work or what’s happening in the news lately. It is a simple, busy life here on Dobson Lane.
