Swarup Stores

Swarup Stores is located on Station Road in Kalipota, which is part of the Amta area in Howrah. We are quite close to the railway station, so we get a lot of people who are either catching a train or just coming back from their work in the city. Our shop sells everyday essentials like snacks, cold drinks, and basic groceries for the kitchen. We also keep some stationery items because there are a few schools nearby and the students often need pens or notebooks. The shop is not very large, and it can get quite cramped when five or six people are inside at the same time. I usually handle the counter myself, but sometimes my wife comes in to help when I need to go and pick up more stock from the wholesaler. The building is a bit old and the paint is peeling in some corners, but it serves its purpose for now. We have a lot of regular customers from the 711401 area who stop by every single morning for their daily supplies. It’s nice to see those familiar faces. The noise from the trains at the station is something we have just gotten used to over the years. We try to keep the prices as low as possible because we know how hard people work for their money around here. It isn't a fancy business, just a local store where you can find the basics without much trouble.
