Surya Paints & Chemicals

We are located at 38, Bipradas Chatterjee Lane in Andul. It’s a bit tucked away, so you have to look for the sign. We mostly do paints and some basic chemicals that people use for maintenance. The shop is usually full of the smell of thinners and fresh paint. We have rows and rows of cans stacked up to the ceiling. It can get pretty messy when we are mixing custom colors for someone. There are always splashes of paint on the floor, no matter how much we try to keep it clean. People from around the neighborhood come here when they are repainting their houses or fixing a fence. It’s a small operation. Most of the time it’s just me and one other person helping out. We spend a lot of time talking to customers about what kind of finish they need. The lane outside is quite narrow, so parking can be a bit of a headache if you have a big vehicle. We have been here for years, and we have seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. Despite the changes, the demand for a good bucket of paint stays the same. We open up early and usually close once the street lights come on. It’s a simple life. We don’t go for anything fancy, just standard products that get the job done for the local folks who trust us with their projects.
