Our office is in Mashila, which is a village in the Howrah district of West Bengal. The pin code is 711302 if you’re sending anything our way. Being in Howrah means we are near the industrial side of things, but our specific spot is a bit more tucked away. We work on towers and large-scale steel structures. Most days are spent looking at schedules or checking on the inventory in the yard. It can get pretty humid here, especially in the monsoon months, which makes the outdoor work a bit harder. We are just a group of people who know how to handle these kinds of projects. We don't have a polished corporate office with air conditioning in every corner. It’s more of a functional space where the real work happens. You’ll find old files stacked up and maps of the local area pinned to the walls. We take our lunch breaks together and talk about the news or the projects we are currently stuck on. It isn’t a glamorous job but it is important for the region. We just keep our heads down and try to finish the work on time. The road leading up to the office can be a bit narrow, so we have to be careful with the big trucks coming in. We just focus on the steel and the timelines without any extra talk.
