If you ever find yourself walking down Ding Sai Para Road in Bally, you might pass by 59/2. That is where we keep things running at Sikha Gaan Tutorial Home. It is a quiet enough area in Howrah, though the traffic on the main roads can be a bit much during the rush hour. I usually walk to work or take a rickshaw if I am running late with my bags. The building is tucked in among other houses and shops, so it feels very much like a part of the local community. We have been here for a while now. The rooms inside are simple, with enough chairs for everyone and some old shelves filled with papers and notebooks that we’ve collected over the months. I try to keep the place tidy, but with people coming and going, there is always a bit of dust or a stray pen on the floor. Bally is a place where everyone kind of knows each other, so we get a lot of neighbors stopping by just to say hello or ask a quick question.
