Shikshangan is located at 1/16 Mir Para Road in Howrah. This is a typical Howrah neighborhood with narrow streets and a lot of activity. Our place is just a regular building where we’ve set up some space for teaching. It’s been here for a bit, and most of the neighbors know us. We don't have any big signs or neon lights. It’s just a small door that leads to the classrooms. Inside, things are kept simple. We have wooden benches and some boards on the walls. It can get a bit humid in the summer, but we have fans running all the time to keep the air moving. We focus on the local school syllabus. The students who come here are mostly from the surrounding houses. They walk over after their school hours are finished. We don't have a fancy website or a big staff. It’s usually just a couple of us taking turns to teach different batches throughout the afternoon and evening. We spend our time explaining math, science, and languages. There’s a lot of reading and writing involved in every session. We don't make any grand claims about what we do. It’s just a place where kids can come to get a bit more help with their studies than they might get in a big classroom at school. It’s a practical, local spot for the community. We just keep doing our work and helping the students get through their exams.
