Star Kitchen

Getting up to the pent house at the top floor near 80 Ghosh Road is a bit of a climb, but that’s where Star Kitchen is. We are right by the Bam Smiti Club in the Jagchga area of Santragachi. Since we are on the top floor, we get a bit of a breeze, which is good because the kitchen gets really hot once the burners are on. It’s all about the cooking here. We have big pots, heavy pans, and the smell of spices usually fills the whole hallway. It’s a busy place, especially around meal times when everyone is moving fast to get things ready. We don’t have a fancy dining room with waiters. It’s more of a practical setup for preparing food. Sometimes the supply delivery is a struggle because of the stairs, but we manage. We’ve been in this Santragachi neighborhood for a bit and people know the smell of our cooking. It’s a lot of chopping, stirring, and cleaning up afterwards. The floor is usually a bit wet and there’s always a sink full of dishes, but that’s just how a real kitchen works. We aren't trying to be a five-star hotel. We just make food and try to keep everything running smoothly in our little corner of the building. It’s honest work and it keeps us on our feet all day long.
