Sahara India Limited

Our office is at 132/1 Dharmotala Road in Salkia, Howrah. If you’ve ever been to Salkia, you know how packed the streets are. Dharmotala Road is always full of rickshaws, cycles, and people walking. Sahara India Limited has been here for a good while. The building is quite old, like many others in this part of Howrah. Inside, it smells a bit like old paper and ink. We have these large wooden desks and shelves that are stacked high with documents. The ceiling fans are big and noisy, but they are necessary because it gets so humid here. We mostly deal with local folks from the neighborhood. It’s a very face-to-face kind of business. We know many of the people who come in by their first names. Sometimes we spend more time chatting about the local news or the weather than actually doing the work. The floor is made of old stone and it’s a bit worn down in the spots where people stand the most. We don’t have any modern office furniture, just what has been here since the start. It’s a bit of a maze to find your way through the stacks of files, but we know where everything is kept. It’s just a typical Howrah workplace, busy and a little bit messy, but we get the job done every single day. We keep the doors open for the breeze.
