The office for S J V Assoiates is right on 8 Station Road in Liluah. Being so close to the station means there is always a crowd outside and people are constantly rushing past the door to catch their trains. It is a bit of a trek up the stairs but we have been in this spot for quite some time now. As CAs, we spend a lot of our time buried under files and ledgers that seem to pile up no matter how much we work. The fans hum in the background while we try to make sense of the latest tax forms and client accounts. It is not a quiet library type of office; there’s always a phone ringing or someone coming in with a bag full of receipts they forgot to organize. We handle a lot of local business stuff and personal taxes for people who live nearby. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit, but that is just part of being in this neighborhood. The tea stall downstairs is where we usually end up when we need a break from the numbers. Our desks are usually covered in calculators and pens, and the shelves are packed tight with old records from years back. It’s a small, functional space where we get the work done without much fuss or overcomplicating things.
