Rohan Variety Stores

Rohan Variety Stores is situated on Amta College Road in Howrah. Since we are so close to the college, we get a lot of students coming in throughout the day. We try to keep the things they need most, like pens, notebooks, and different kinds of snacks. The shop is often a bit crowded, especially in the afternoons when classes let out and everyone wants something at the same time. It can get a bit noisy with all the young people talking, but it keeps the day interesting. We don't have any polished floors or expensive displays. Our shelves are mostly packed tight with whatever we can fit. I started this shop because I wanted to work for myself and stay near my home in Amta. My nephew comes by to help out after his own classes are done. The road outside is always busy with rickshaws and motorbikes, so there is never a quiet moment. We stay open until the evening so that people living nearby can pick up things on their way back from work. We don't use any fancy computer systems for our sales, just a simple book to keep track of what we sell. It’s a regular local business and we don't have any big plans to change it. We just enjoy seeing the same faces every day and making a steady living here.
