Raj Kumar Stores is right by Gate No. 5 of the Shalimar Railway Station. It’s a good spot because of all the people coming and going from the trains. We’ve been here for quite some time, and the shop is usually full of stuff people need for their daily lives or their trips. It’s not a huge place, but we pack a lot into the shelves. Sometimes things get a bit dusty because of the trains nearby, but we try to keep it tidy. My family has been running this for a while. You get to know the regulars, the people who work at the station or live close by. We open early and stay open late most days. It’s a lot of standing around and talking to customers. We sell all sorts of things, from snacks to small household items. It depends on what people are asking for that month. The area around Shalimar station is always moving. There’s a lot of noise and people carrying bags. We just sit here in the middle of it. Sometimes it's quiet in the afternoons, and that's when we restock or check the inventory. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just know us from walking past the gate. It’s a simple life running a store like this, just keeping the shelves full and helping whoever walks in.
