Parui Traders

We are based out in Ramerswarnagar, which is part of the Bauria area in Howrah. It’s a bit of a trek from the main city, but the quiet suits us. For a good while, Parui Traders has been our family business. Since the shop is close to the post office and the station, it’s easy for people in the village to reach us. A big staff isn't something we have, just a few of us who know the inventory inside and out. Even when the roads around here get a bit muddy during the rainy season, people still come by. We stock things that local folks actually use. Keeping fancy stuff that nobody wants doesn't make much sense. By talking to the neighbors, we make sure to have what they are looking for. Old as the building itself is, it stays sturdy. To keep things simple, we record most of the books manually. Life moves a bit slower here than in the middle of Kolkata, and we are fine with that. During the hottest part of the afternoon, we sometimes close for a few hours. Earning a living this way is quiet. Without a website or anything like that, we just have the shop and our name on the wall. If you’re in Bauria, just ask anyone for the Parui place and they will point you the right way. Most people around here have known us for a long time.
