You can find us at 21, Dinu Lane in Kadamtala, Howrah. This is the West Bengal office for Otis Elevator Company (India) Ltd. It’s located in a typical narrow lane that you see a lot of in Howrah. It’s a bit of a maze getting around sometimes, but we know the area well. Our work is centered around the elevators in this part of the region. We have a lot of old industrial buildings and newer apartments that all need their lifts serviced. It’s a very hands-on job. Our office is a place where we store our gear and manage the team. We aren't big on marketing or fancy talk; we prefer to just get on with the repairs. Some days are spent entirely on site, getting our hands dirty and making sure everything is aligned properly. The humidity here in Bengal can be a real problem for metal parts, so we do a lot of cleaning and lubrication. It’s a steady stream of work, and we like it that way. We have built up a bit of a relationship with the local shopkeepers and residents over the years. They know if there’s a problem with a lift, they can give us a shout. We just take it as it comes, solving one mechanical problem at a time and making sure everyone can get to their floor safely. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know how to do after all these years on the job.
