We are located on Foreshore Road in Shibpur, which is right across the street from Jain Hospital. It is a very busy part of the town because of the hospital and the traffic coming off the main roads. Our office at Organic India is quite simple and down-to-earth. We have a few rooms where we handle our daily operations. It is not a place with glass walls or modern art. Instead, we have practical furniture and a lot of shelves for our files and supplies. The river is not too far away, so we sometimes get a bit of a breeze through the windows, though most days it is just warm and busy. We are a small group of people who have worked together for a long time. Our routine is pretty much the same every day. We come in, check what needs to be done, and get to it. There is usually a lot of talk about current projects and who is handling what. We don't have a big cafeteria or anything, just a small corner where we keep the kettle and some tea leaves. It is a very normal, everyday kind of place. Sometimes the noise from the ambulances and the traffic outside can be a bit much, but we have learned to work through it. Shibpur is a place with a lot of old buildings and narrow lanes, and our office fits right in with that local feel. We just focus on our work and keep things moving.
