Novelty Engg Works

We have been at 68 Atindra Mukherjee Lane for a long time now. It’s right there in Sibpur, pretty close to the Howrah Jute Mills. You can usually hear the mills working if the wind is right. Howrah is a crowded place, especially this part near the jute mills, but it’s where we do our work every day. The lane gets busy in the mornings with people heading to work and trucks trying to squeeze through the narrow space. It is not a fancy office, just a place with tools and grease and a lot of noise from the machines. Some days it’s very hot, especially in the summer months when the West Bengal humidity hits hard. We have a small fan that mostly just moves the warm air around. People around here know us because we’ve been in this spot for years. If you’re looking for the shop, just ask anyone near the jute mills and they can point you down Atindra Mukherjee Lane. It’s a bit of a walk from the main road, but not too bad once you know the way. We spend most of our time here fixing things or talking to people who drop by with parts that need looking at. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until the sun goes down. Sometimes we stay late when there is a big job, but mostly we close up when it gets dark. It is just how things are done here.
