About M/S Ma Rakshakali Bhandar – Food & Beverages in Howrah
This is a small bhandar located in Garbhanga village, which is part of Basudevpur. We’re in the Panchla area, under the Uluberia police station. It’s a very local business. We mostly stock the kinds of things people in the village need for their kitchens and daily lives. We’ve been here for years, and the shop is named after Ma Rakshakali. It’s not a huge place, just a room filled with sacks of grain, lentils, and other groceries. We open early in the morning before most people go out to work. It’s a bit dusty sometimes because the village roads aren't paved everywhere. We try to keep things organized, but when a big delivery comes in, there are boxes everywhere for a while. We don't have a website or fancy computers. We just use our notebooks to keep track of what people owe or what we need to order from the wholesalers. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting heavy bags and weighing out sugar or flour for customers. We know almost everyone who walks through the door. We hear all the local news while we’re measuring out spices. It’s a simple life running a shop in a place like Uluberia. We aren't looking to expand into a chain or anything. We just want to keep the shelves stocked for our neighbors and make sure the quality is decent enough for everyday cooking. It’s just how we live and work here.
