Our plant and office are located in Village Duillya, in the Nimtala area. This is in the Howrah district of West Bengal, specifically under the Sankrail police station. The pin code is 711302. Working in the alloy business in a place like Howrah means dealing with a lot of heat, both from the furnaces and the Bengal humidity. It’s a very industrial part of the country. To get to us, you have to drive through some narrow village roads that aren't always in the best shape, especially after the monsoon rains. The site is big and metallic, filled with the sounds of machinery and the smell of industrial work. It isn't a place for suits and ties. Most of us are in work clothes, getting our hands dirty and making sure the alloy production stays on schedule. We have a small office section near the front of the Duillya site where we handle the billing and the logs. It’s usually quite loud because of the heavy trucks coming in and out to deliver raw materials or pick up the finished goods. We don't have any air conditioning in the main areas, just big industrial fans that move the hot air around. It’s a tough environment, but it’s what we know. The local workers from the village make up most of our team, so there's a real sense of community here. We just focus on the daily output and hope the power stays steady enough to keep the machines running throughout the shift.
