Mondal Telecom

Mondal Telecom is located right on Andul Road in the Chunavati area. It’s a small shop, mostly filled with glass cases and boxes of phone accessories. We spend most of our time sitting behind the counter, helping people with their mobile phones or selling recharge cards. It’s a busy spot because of the traffic on Andul Road, so there is always a lot of dust that we have to wipe off the shelves every morning. We do repairs too, which means there are often tiny screws and tools scattered on the workbench in the back. It’s not a fancy place with bright lights or anything. We have a small fan that hums all day to keep us cool, but it doesn't do much when the sun is hitting the front window. People from the neighborhood come in to chat even if they aren't buying anything, which makes the day go by faster. We’ve been here for a few years now, and we know most of the regulars who pass by. It is a bit cramped when more than three customers come in at once, but we make it work. We stay open late most nights because that’s when people are coming home from work and need things for their phones. It’s just a simple local shop trying to stay busy. We have a small TV high up on the wall, but we only really turn it on for the cricket matches.
