Moin Stores

Moin Stores is located in the Tokapur New Market area. We are on Udaynarayanpur Road here in Howrah. The market is a lively place especially on the days when the fresh produce comes in. Our shop is one of those places where you can find household items and general stuff. It gets very humid here so we keep the doors wide open. The roof makes a lot of noise when it rains, which happens a lot in this part of Bengal. We have been sitting behind this counter for a long time. We see the kids growing up and then they start coming in to buy things for their own homes. It makes you feel old but it is nice too. Udaynarayanpur is a busy area but people still take time to chat. We stock things like oil, pulses, and soap. Sometimes we run out of space and have to stack boxes on the floor. You just have to navigate around them. We don't have a computer to track things, we just use a ledger and our memory. It works well enough for us. The lights in the market flicker sometimes in the evening but we keep going. We like the routine of opening up and seeing the same faces every day. It is just a local shop for local people. We do the work and go home to our families.
