Our office is located in the village of Siddheswar, which is in the J.B. Pur area of Howrah. It is quite a way out from the main city, so things are much slower and quieter here. We operate under the Ministry Of Defence, handling the local requirements for this part of the district. The building is simple and fits right in with the rest of the village. We do not have high-speed elevators or glass walls. It is just a basic brick building where we keep our registers and files. Most of the people working here are locals from the nearby areas. We know the neighbors and the local shopkeepers. Sometimes cattle wander past the front door, which you would not see in a Delhi office. The roads can be a bit rough during the monsoon season, making it a challenge to get here, but we always manage to show up. We do not have any promotional materials or fancy slogans. Our job is just to provide the necessary support for the ministry in this specific region. It is honest work. We spend our days filling out forms, answering letters, and checking on local projects. There is a tea stall just down the road where we go for our breaks. It is a very grounded way of working, far away from the big corporate world. We just do what is needed and keep things running as best as we can without making any fuss or noise.
