Our workspace is located on the 4th floor of a building on Sanatan Mistry Lane in Salkia, Howrah. Specifically, it’s at 14/21/5, and getting up those four flights of stairs every morning is definitely one way to wake up. Salkia is a very old and crowded part of West Bengal, so there is always something happening right outside the door. The office is a bit cramped because we have a lot of old files and furniture that has been around for many years. It has that specific smell of old paper and dust that you find in long-standing Howrah businesses. We don't have an elevator, so we don't get many casual visitors, which actually helps us stay focused on the work. The windows look out over the rooftops of the neighborhood, and you can see the smoke and the laundry hanging out. It is a very humble place to work. We spend our time going through records and managing the daily tasks that come with being in this part of town. The light in the office is a bit dim, but we have enough lamps to see what we are doing. It’s just a regular local spot where we put in the hours without any fancy equipment or modern office perks. We know the people in the building and the shopkeepers on the lane, making it feel like we are part of the local fabric here.
