M.B.Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital

Working around Shibpur Road means you have to get used to a lot of noise and movement. The college and the hospital are located at 93/2/1, and the place is always full of students. They are everywhere you look, carrying their heavy books and bags while rushing to their next class or heading into the hospital section for their practical work. Since this is a Homoeopathic institution, the atmosphere is a bit different from a standard medical college. There is always a lot of talking and discussion happening in the hallways. The building has that classic Shibpur feel—sturdy and old, but clearly used heavily every single day. We have a dispensary on-site where the small white medicinal pills are handed out to patients. People from the area come in and wait on the wooden benches, and they often end up chatting with the students while they wait. It is an interesting mix of a school environment and a medical clinic. Sometimes the noise from the students in the corridors gets a little bit loud, especially when they are on their breaks, but it keeps the building feeling like it has some life in it. The rooms are very basic, mostly just wooden desks and simple chairs for the consultations. We do not have many high-tech screens or fancy gadgets around. It is more about the books and the long talks with the patients. The stairs are made of stone and worn down in the middle.
