Maa Variety Stores

Maa Variety Stores is my small business at Kamarshala More on Jhinkra Road. I decided to call it a variety store because I like to keep a mix of different items. One side of the shop has buckets and plastic mugs, and the other side has biscuits and packets of chips. My wife comes in during the afternoon to help out so I can go home and eat my lunch in peace. We live just a few minutes away, which is convenient. The shop is right at the crossroads, so we get a lot of people passing by on their cycles. It is a very local spot in Howrah. I try to keep the shop organized, but with so many different types of goods, it often looks a bit cluttered. There are strings of shampoo sachets hanging from the doorway which hit people in the head if they are too tall. I find it funny, but I should probably move them. We get our stock from the bigger markets in the city once a week. I take my old scooter and bring back what I can carry. The locals here are friendly and they often stop by just to say hello even if they are not buying anything. The winters are nice because I can sit outside in the sun. In the summer, we just try to stay cool and wait for the evening breeze. It is a simple shop for simple needs.
