Maa Tara Doctors Chamber

This little chamber is tucked away in Rathtala, right in the Jhinkra part of Howrah. If you know Amta Road, you’ve probably passed us plenty of times without thinking much of it. We aren't a big medical center with a lot of departments, just a quiet spot where the local doctors sit and talk to patients. The walls are painted a light green that’s starting to peel a bit near the ceiling, but it’s clean enough. We have a few benches for people to sit on while they wait for their name to be called. Most of our visitors are from right here in the neighborhood, so we know a lot of the families by name. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, but we leave the door open to get a breeze from the street. It’s nothing like those big clinics in the city where everything is white and cold. Here, it feels a bit more like home, maybe because we’ve been in this same building for so long. Sometimes the tea man stops by and we have a quick cup between patients. It’s a simple life here in Jhinkra. We just try to keep the doors open and the lights on for whenever someone needs to drop in. It’s practical and it works for the people around here. No one expects anything flashy, just a place that’s open when they need it.
